Mark is the director of JResponse, JCC Association’s powerful initiative that convenes, trains, and deploys JCC professionals from across the continent to JCC communities in the aftermath of a crisis. JResponse harnesses the resources of the JCC Movement, including the more than 6,000-strong skilled professionals across the JCC field, to provide tangible support and relief to peer institutions in need. Mark brings to the role over 15 years of experience elevating talent in nonprofit organizations and spearheading community service initiatives at major Jewish institutions, including the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (JTS), the 92 Street Y, and the Mandel JCC of Cleveland, Ohio. Mark holds dual master’s degrees in non-profit management and Judaic studies from New York University and a bachelor’s degree from McGill University. He lives in Hartsdale, New York, where he, his wife Rabbi Mara Young, and two children are members of the Harold and Elaine Shames JCC on the Hudson in Tarrytown, NY.
